ONE YEAR LIMITED TERM

JOB LOCATION: Riverside Middle School

CERTIFICATION: Wisconsin DPI Licensure #1601 Broadfield Science Preferred; #1088 with Concentration in Science

PERCENTAGE: 100% - One Year Limited Term

START DATE: August 24, 2026 (new teacher orientation is August 17-20, 2026)

JOB DESCRIPTION: Riverside Middle School provides students with comprehensive curricular programming and extra-curricular activities to meet individual student needs and interests. RMS utilizes a block schedule in instructing classes.

Qualified candidates should possess:

  • Passion to teach middle school students;
  • Ability to be student centered;
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of student learning needs and styles;
  • Ability to align instruction to standards;
  • Ability to find ways to ensure content area connects with building-wide initiatives
  • Ability to communicate with students, parents, and staff;
  • Able to develop relationships and support all students to provide for their academic, social, and emotional success;
  • Use data and research-based information in teaching students;
  • A knowledge of inclusion and co-teaching strategies.

THE DISTRICT: Selected candidate will help to further the WUSD mission to serve our students by providing educational opportunities to promote academic excellence and a lifelong love of learning and to lead families, students and staff in realizing the WUSD vision of inspired learners through student-centered education strengthened by community involvement.

The Watertown School District has an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students taught in seven buildings. Riverside Middle School has an enrollment of approximately 600 students.

THE COMMUNITY: The Watertown community has 24,000 residents and is located on the Rock River approximately halfway between Madison and Milwaukee, at the junction of Highways 16, 19, and 26.
