Pay Range: USD $45,340.00 - USD $98,160.00 /Yr. Overview:

The Medical Laboratory Science Program within the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Auburn University is seeking an enthusiastic Laboratory Coordinator who is committed to teaching excellence, actively engaging undergraduate students, and collaborating with the university community to ensure a positive and supportive student experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Teaching laboratory, classroom, and/or clinical courses at the undergraduate level that may include, but are not limited to, instruction in Basics in Laboratory Sciences, Hematology, Clinical Biochemistry and Instrumentation, and Immunohematology.
  • Actively participate in Medical Laboratory Science recruitment efforts.
  • Participate in service activities within the department and college. 
  • Oversee laboratory inventory, coordinating supply orders, managing vendor relationships, and preparing specimens for instructional laboratory sessions.
  • Maintenance and ensuring proper function of laboratory instrumentation. 
  • Contributes to curriculum and course development initiatives and serve as an advisor to the MLS student organization, supporting student leadership and professional growth.
Qualifications:

Level I:

  • Master's degree in Laboratory Science or science related field.

Level II:

  • Master's degree in Laboratory Science or science related fieldand 2 years of experience in the coordination of lab operations, procedures, and instruction.

 

Level III:

  • Master's degree in Laboratory Science or  science related field and 4 years of experience in the coordination of lab operations, procedures, and instruction.

*Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS(ASCP)) certification in good standing is required.


SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED FOR EXPERIENCE: Yes, When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
