Duties

SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER - MUST HAVE AN ILLINOIS SCHOOL SERVICE PERSONNEL LICENSURE

School location is subject to change.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participate in building-based activities that are related to the school improvement plan.
  • Participate in RtI Problem-Solving Teams, including identification and support of at-risk students.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the strategies and activities related to Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) programs within the school improvement plan (i.e. Secondary, Tertiary, or wrap around services.
  • Complete the social development study for children who are being initially evaluated or reevaluated as a part of a comprehensive case study evaluation, as required by law.
  • Provide social work services to children as determined in the IEP process, as required by law.
  • Provide direct crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Participate as a member of the school district crisis management team, as needed.
  • Participate in the regularly scheduled social work professional development activities.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with students, parents, educational personnel and community agency representatives.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of secondary services and facilitate tertiary and wrap-around services for those children identified by the school-based team.
  • Attend regularly scheduled referral conferences if a child is referred for a comprehensive case study evaluation.
  • Participate in at-risk programs.
  • Work with individual students having emotional problems, students who may commit suicide or display harmful behaviors towards themselves or other students or staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Salary/Benefits

School certified social worker pay range starts at $54,717.31 depending on education and experience.
