PeopleFirst Education Staffing is seeking a School Services School Special Education Teacher for a travel job in Detroit, Michigan.

Self-contained Classrooms, max 22 students.
Cognitive Impairment positions (5): K-12th
Emotional Impairment position (1): Middle School
Resource Classrooms - Learning Disabilities Endorsement (LD), including EI & CI endorsements are acceptable.
Positions (5): K-12th
Please note, caseloads may vary depending on current needs
35 hours per week
Interviews are currently conducted remotely
Copy of *official* university transcripts required prior to presenting to the district
ONSITE Position - Candidates should be comfortable working in an urban district.

Other Requirements and Information:

Typically they ask for Michigan Teacher Certificate with Learning Disabilities but prefer “Emotional Impairment endorsement” (EI) & "Cognitively Impaired" (CI) or MDE endorsement ZA (Early Childhood) and 1 other area of Special Education.
Please pre-qualify candidate: Flint may ask candidate about the struggles of Urban children or resources that would be appropriate for their students and families.
Client may ask about their understanding/knowledge of special education as it relates to (MARSE) Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education with Related IDEA Federal Regulations Support - there is an entire special education team at each school, they would also have LSS department support. A lot of students have a 1 on 1 para, and a lot of teachers have a classroom paraprofessional as well. There are also behavior specialists at each building. We would provide them with a mentor, and professional development. They would also have training from our Academics team. . Here's a full list of accepted endorsements:
