Do you love lakefront living? Kenosha, WI is located along the shores of Lake Michigan and offers small town charm with a lakefront lifestyle. We are hiring Special Education Teachers in Kenosha, WI for the 2026-27 school year, full-time, 37.5 hours per week. To qualify for roles in teaching, we’re looking for previous experience in a special education setting, whether it’s resource or self-contained classrooms, 1:1 scenarios or situations where you’re with children with externalizing behaviors. We’re also looking for experience working with IEPs (individualized education plans), lesson planning, working collaboratively with faculty and parents and a strong desire to connect with your students. Requirements vary by license type, but generally, you will need to meet the following criteria:

Application: If you don't hold a current DPI, you'll need to apply through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction's website
State Statutory Requirements: Wisconsin may assign stipulations (deficiencies) on your license. Out-of-state applicants frequently have to complete additional coursework or training specific to Wisconsin laws, such as training on science-based reading and language arts instruction.
Exams: You may need to pass Wisconsin-specific content or testing requirements or provide scores from your Illinois testing (like the ILTS) for DPI evaluation.
Licensure Level: The DPI will review your specific Illinois credentials and issue the most similar Wisconsin subject and grade-level license for which you qualify.

Weekly Compensation is based on experience and will range from from $1,725 to $1,897
