Job Description Summary

The School Partnerships Coordinator is a key teammate in implementing the Lewis University Community Schools Consortium (LUCSC) mission to support community thriving. Specifically, the Romeoville High School (RHS) Coordinator collaborates with school, district, university, and community partners to improve student, family, and community wellness and success. The Coordinator will serve as the main point of contact for all activities occurring in partnership with the school district and Lewis University. NOTE: This position is 100% grant-funded.

Responsibilities

About the Lewis University Community Schools Consortium Funded through the federal Full-Service Community Schools grant program, LUCSC works to increase wellbeing and educational success for students and families in communities local to Lewis University. To do so, LUCSC creates a network of P-12 public schools, community agencies, and Lewis departments working together to provide cohesive services and support for students and families through implementation of the 'community school' strategy.

A successful Coordinator will:

  • Demonstrate the ability to build trusting partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including youth, families, community leaders, school staff, and university constituents
  • Display strong organizational skills to manage multiple initiatives, coordinate partners, and meet deadlines
  • Take initiative to solve problems and identify resources independently
  • Exhibit creativity and resourcefulness
  • Utilize excellent verbal and written communication, including one-on-one, small group, and in larger meetings
  • Engage collaboratively with school leadership, school-based educators, community partners, university partners, and LUCSC colleagues
  • Exhibit the ability to collect, organize, and maintain program data
  • Identify strategic priorities and plans based on collected data
  • Demonstrate proficiency in essential technology tools, such as Microsoft products, Google products, AI, etc. Additionally, Coordinator will possess the following important qualities:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • Relevant experience in education, social work, psychology, nursing, sociology, human services, or other related field preferred
  • 2-3 years program management and/or case management experience preferred
  • Skills and knowledge coordinating multifaceted programming within underserved communities, especially via public education systems
  • Desire to work in a relationship-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to multitask
  • Previous experience and/ or commitment to working with youth and families preferred
  • Spanish-language written and oral proficiency preferred

Preferred Qualifications Essential Duties Work hours

Hours will align with Romeoville High School, which starts at 7:30 am and ends at 2:15 pm. Staff will often work the traditional school day for a total of 7.5 hours a day. Additionally, each semester, they will be responsible for co-coordinating an after school program from 2:30- 5:00 pm at the DuPage Township office.
