    Description

    The School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences in the New College of Integrated Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University is seeking part-time Faculty Associates to teach existing courses or develop new ones for the Biological Data Science Master's program during the 2026-2027 academic year and beyond, in both in-person and online formats. Our graduate program provides a strong foundation in biological sciences, integrating statistical and computational tools to address real-world biological challenges through data-driven solutions. We are especially interested in candidates who are passionate about teaching graduate courses and bring academic or industry expertise in the following areas:

    • Biostatistics
    • Artificial Intelligence
    • Computational Biology
    • Environmental Health
    • Database Systems
    • Cloud Computing
    • Systems Biology
    • Biotechnology and Entrepreneurship
    • Geospatial Data Science
    • Genomics

    Faculty Associate positions are one semester, non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed an average of .40 FTE per semester. The number of courses is contingent upon unit needs, funding, and sufficient enrollment. Salary is based on qualifications and assigned teaching load.

    Essential Functions of the Position:

    • Teach relevant courses to graduate students, in face-to-face or online formats.
    • Prepare syllabus, lectures and class materials, exams, and grade assignments and exams.
    • Maintain regular availability to graduate students including office hours as appropriate to course modality.
    • Monitor graduate student success and regularly respond to student academic issues.
    • Monitor and guide course assistants
