The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU) and the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering (SBHSE) seek applicants for one teaching faculty position in the Medical Engineering program, which is jointly administered by the John Shufeldt School of Medicine and Medical Engineering. The School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering, one of the eight Fulton Schools, houses a vibrant multidisciplinary bioengineering research community with expertise in Healthcare AI, synthetic biology, systems bioengineering, bioimaging, biosensors, molecular, cellular and tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and neural rehabilitation engineering (learn more at https://research.engineering.asu.edu/). All teaching faculty positions are non-tenure track appointments with a fixed-term academic year contract. Appointments will be made at the rank of Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Assistant Teaching Professor, commensurate with the candidate's experience and accomplishments, beginning immediately.

The Innovation Director (teaching faculty) will serve as a Course Director for the graduate-level Medical Engineering Capstone course, a signature element of our curriculum that integrates engineering design with clinical innovation. The Innovation Director will be responsible for the academic and operational leadership of the course, ensuring an immersive, team-based, and interdisciplinary experience that reflects the dynamic interface of engineering and medicine. The Innovation Director will be responsible for setting the vision for the course and working with key stakeholders across the university and clinical partners to build a dynamic and sustainable capstone program. As part of this, the Innovation Director will be responsible for building and sustaining relationships with industry experts, clinical mentors, and healthcare stakeholders.

We search for applicants who will contribute to our academic programs, promote transdisciplinary teaching, and help the university to achieve its aspirations, including enabling student success and transforming society. Teaching faculty also contribute to the service missions of the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering and the John Shufeldt School of Medicine and Medical Engineering through student outreach activities, service on committees, and industry engagement activities.
