The purpose of this position is to strengthen and facilitate the educational process by modifying or removing health-related barriers to learning and to promote wellness so that all students may pursue their full potential. Achieve District educational goals and objectives by promoting actions that maintain or restore health, prevent illness and affect rehabilitation. Responsible for carrying out the school district's health program as defined by Wisconsin state statutes, administrative rules and district policies, and consistent with the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act. Maintain and improve the health status of students; be accessible before, during and after school for student/parent interaction; communicate with parents and community resources, conduct health screenings and appraisals; monitor student safety; maintain records; and attend District meetings/committees.

Requires a bachelor of science degree in nursing from an accredited college or university; current Wisconsin registered nurse license from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing, Wisconsin Board of Safety and Professional Services; a valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction school nurse certification; and must maintain CPR and first aid certifications. Previous experience in child health or school nurse preferred. Ability to life/move up to 50 pounds where applicable. Must possess basic information technology and media skills.

Spanish speaking skills a plus.
