POSITION DESCRIPTION Under the direction of the Director, Healthy San Bernardino County Superintendent of School (SBCSS), Innovation & Engagement Branch, the School Nurse Specialist supports the strengthening of school health infrastructure and assists with planning, organizing, and managing comprehensive school-based health services provided to San Bernardino County Local Education Agencies (LEAs) by expanding their capacity to address student health needs. The School Nurse Specialist supports the SBCSS Administrators in providing leadership for LEA school nursing and health services programs; ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations; assists with coordinating and implementing specialized health initiatives; and supervises classified staff. The position serves as a liaison among state and county government agencies, community-based organizations, SBCSS leadership, Special Education Local Plan Areas (SELPAs), school districts, public health agencies, and community partners to support student health, safety, and academic success.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Possession of a valid California Clear School Nurse Services Credential; • Five (5) years of full-time school nursing experience. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Possession of a valid California Administrative Services credential; • Possession of a Master's degree in Nursing; • Additional years of full-time school nursing experience.
