As a School Nurse (RN) in West Chicago, IL, your days will Include:

Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and evaluate student health needs.
Develop, implement, and update Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs).
Delegate and supervise nursing tasks to qualified personnel when appropriate and permitted by state law and district policy.
Provide clinical consultation to school staff regarding student health concerns and accommodations.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, including IEP and 504 meetings, when nursing services are required.

Job Details

Position: Contract (option to renew) in a school setting
Hours: Full-time (Monday - Friday)
Caseload: Elementary age providing general building support and healthcare services

Successful Candidates Possess

Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Current, active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification (or ability to obtain prior to the start of employment)
Previous experience in pediatrics, school nursing, public health, family practice, or a related healthcare setting is preferred but not required
Knowledge of medication administration, emergency response procedures, infection control, and student health documentation
Ability to assess student health needs, respond to medical emergencies, and provide skilled nursing care in a school setting
Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, teachers, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams
Must successfully complete all district-required background checks, fingerprinting, and employment clearances prior to employment
The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
