Job Summary
Join our dedicated educational team as a School Health Aide, where you will play a vital role in supporting the health, safety, and well-being of students in a Christian school.
This job is for one day per week (Wednesday) and on-call to substitute for the school nurse.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a high school diploma (required) and at least one year of college education (preferred).
- Some medical training such as Registered Nurse, Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician or Medical Assistant or Nursing Student is preferred.
- Call the Registered Nurse with any questions or concerns.
- Possess a willingness to learn first aid procedures and medication administration.
- Document all interactions with students e.g. medication administration, care administered and calls to families.
- Have an excellent track record of caring well for people.
- Retain a passion for working in a dynamic, child-centered environment.
- Understand the importance of discernment, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Be open and flexible to new school initiatives.
Required Skills:
- First Aid and CPR certification, or ability to obtain certfication.
- People skills: Demonstrate a sensitivity and ability to interact effectively with staff, parents, volunteers, and children.
- Computer skills: Proficient at using email, word processing, spreadsheets, and the internet.
- Communication skills: Communicate effectively and professionally via email and verbally.
