GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Under the supervision of the School Administrator, this role supports the academic, career, and social-emotional development of all students while integrating Native cultural values. The School Counselor delivers a comprehensive program focused on guidance curriculum, individual student planning, and responsive services.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Program Management & Foundation: Design and manage a counseling program aligned with school vision and state/national standards.
Data-Driven Accountability: Annually evaluate program effectiveness by analyzing student data related to academics, behavior, and social-emotional growth.
Student Guidance & Counseling: Deliver classroom, small group, and individual lessons covering social emotional development, academic and career exploration. Provide crisis intervention, individual counseling, and referrals for students with barriers to learning.
Advocacy & Consultation: Collaborate with staff, parents, and community agencies to advocate for a supportive learning environment and high student achievement.
Outreach: Conduct home visits to strengthen communication between the school and families.
Performs related duties as directed.
