JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Assist students with school and career planning by developing academic, career and personal/social skills goals. Collaborate with parents/guardians and educators to support students in achieving these goals and plans as needed.
- Assist students with the college application, scholarship, and financial aid process as well as the vocational aspects of their post-secondary plans.
- Review student progress/achievement/performance as needed and initiate follow-up with parents, students, and teachers in a timely manner.
- Provide individual counseling to students with identified concerns or needs.
- Consult and collaborate effectively with parents/guardians, teachers, administrators, and other staff members regarding these students and/or refer them to school adjustment counseling or outside counseling services as needed.
- Participate in the following teams and associated meetings as needed for students on caseload: Student Review Team (SRT), Individual Education Program Teams (IEP) and Student 504 Plan Accommodation Teams.
- Assist with recruitment and admissions.
- Other school counseling functions and duties as assigned.
COMPENSATION:
In accordance with the BHEA Contract - $66,019.43 to $119,127.78
QUALIFICATIONS:
DESE Licensure as a School Counselor, Grades 5-12
