Summary: The primary responsibility of the School Counselor shall be counseling students and providing those services directly related to counseling. The School Counselor shall be responsible for the effective management of the school counseling department to which he/she is assigned. The school counseling program shall be conducted in accordance with policies adopted by the Board of Education and with regulations and procedures of the district.

Essential Functions/Qualifications/Requirements:
Education and Experience:
Master's degree in guidance and counseling and considerable counseling and guidance or teaching experience. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. A Valid Louisiana Ancillary Teaching Certificate - Counseling.

Technological Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in general use of a computer, the use of Email as a form of communication, and other job-specific equipment, software, and/or applications.
