The School Clerk 190 is a vital and supportive member of the PCSD team working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to achieve the shared goal of ensuring all students receive the education they need to succeed both today and tomorrow. This role is performed within a school environment overseen by the school principal, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount.

Primary Function:
Ability to perform clerical duties related to student attendance, accounting, and record-keeping to assure accurate average daily attendance. Ability to serve as liaison between students, parents, and staff regarding student attendance and discipline. General knowledge of district attendance policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications:
Minimum of high school diploma or GED Two (2) years general clerical experience involving record-keeping and frequent public contact The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.
Essential Functions:
Verify excused and unexcused absences Prepare various attendance records Review attendance data records and reports for completeness Process and verify student absence and excuse information from parents for completeness Operate and maintain the automated attendance calling system daily Prepare, distribute, collect, and process forms and applications required for attendance accounting and record-keeping Generate related computerized lists and reports Operate a variety of office equipment, including a computer, calculator, fax machine, copier, and typewriter Establish and maintain filing techniques Serve as liaison between students, parents, and staff regarding student attendance, discipline, district attendance policies, procedures, rules, and regulations Maintain records and prepare reports Learn methods, procedures, policies, and terminology used in accounting for student attendance Interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures Meet schedules and timelines Participate in training programs to improve individual skills and proficiency related to the assignment Follow federal and state laws as well as school board policies Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee
