The Genoa City Jt. 2 School District is seeking a highly organized, collaborative, and student-centered professional to serve as the District's School Business Manager beginning July 1, 2026. The district serves approximately 400 students in grades 4K-8 and operates with an annual budget exceeding $8 million.

The School Business Manager reports directly to the Superintendent and serves as a key member of the District's administrative team. This position is responsible for overseeing the financial and business operations of the district in compliance with Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) requirements, district policies, and state and federal regulations.

Wisconsin DPI School Business Administrator licensure (#5008) is preferred or the ability to obtain appropriate licensure.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of governmental and school district accounting practices, including budget development, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, financial reporting, and compliance with Wisconsin Uniform Financial Accounting Requirements (WUFAR).
  • The ability to manage and coordinate Human Resources functions including employee benefits, onboarding, personnel records, FMLA, Affordable Care Act compliance, and other employment-related responsibilities.
  • Experience with financial management software and school information systems, including processing payroll, purchase orders, invoices, and required state and federal reporting.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with staff, administrators, board members, auditors, vendors, and community stakeholders.
  • Strong technology skills and the ability to effectively utilize and learn systems including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Skyward, and DPI applications.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to independently manage projects, meet deadlines, and support continuous district improvement efforts.

Previous school business office or public-sector accounting experience is preferred but not required. Appropriate experience in finance, accounting, payroll, human resources, or business operations will also be considered.
