JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: SCHOOL BUS OPERATOR
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High School diploma or equivalent.
C.D.L. Class B driver's license with air brake, passenger and school bus endorsements and a current School Bus Operator license as provided by the guidelines established by the Massachusetts RMV (renewable annually).
REPORTS TO: Arlington Public Schools Transportation Director

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit in the driver's seat of a bus for long stretches of time. Must be able to focus on conditions on the road while driving. The employee is also required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Month - 40 hrs per week (Expected to work overtime). Terms of employment are in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the Arlington School Committee and Local 680, School Bus Operators.
STARTING SALARY: $61K/yr
Full-Time 40 hrs/wk + overtime and benefits
