Position Summary

As a School-Based Mental Health Clinician you conduct trauma-informed intake assessments, develop individualized mental health treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapy to students K-12 experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral health challenges. You collaborate with school counselors, special education staff, families, and community partners to ensure students have consistent, skilled clinical support in their natural environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct trauma-informed intake assessments and develop individualized mental health treatment plans
  • Deliver individual and small group evidence-based therapy including CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-focused techniques
  • Assess suicide and self-harm risk, develop safety plans, and respond to mental health crises
  • Facilitate family meetings, caregiver training, and mental health education Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and treatment progress records
  • Collaborate with school counselors, special education staff, nurses, and community partners
  • Contribute to mental health awareness initiatives and staff training 

Required Qualifications

  1. Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Mental Health, or related clinical field
  2. Active Tennessee licensure: LCSW, LPC, LMSW, MSW, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of child development, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
 
Clear background check and proof of immunization status per district requirements 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of school-based mental health, clinical social work, or school counseling experience
  • Training in TF-CBT, DBT, or other evidence-based modalities
  • Experience with crisis intervention and suicide and self-harm assessment
 
Bilingual capability: Spanish, Somali, or Arabic is a meaningful plus 
$43,000 - $60,000 a year
Competitive W-2 salary: $43,000 to $60,000 based on credentials, experience, and location
