Position Overview


The Tech Interactive is seeking a highly organized and collaborative professional to support program coordination across a variety of event contexts. This position will leverage current and future programmatic offerings to expand The Tech Interactive’s reach and strengthen relationships across multiple audiences.


Reporting to the Program Development Manager, this non-exempt position is responsible for supporting logistics and day-of coordinating for both public and school experiences and events, as well as advancing outreach initiatives through partnerships and programming. This position will also be responsible for high-quality facilitation of programs both onsite and offsite. This role is expected to spend up to 50% of their annual time facilitating hands-on experiences.


The coordinator works cross-departmentally with Marketing, Public Programming and Guest Experiences teams to deliver meaningful and engaging programming events. This is a full-time non-exempt position.


Key Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Senior Director of Interactive Learning Programs, Bio Programs Manager, and Program Development Manager develop yearly calendar of public and school programs and events
  • Coordinate Interactive Learning events including event logistics, vendor coordination, and support event marketing for events including STEM Mobile programs, field trip events, and seasonal holiday programming
  • Assist in identifying, developing, and managing current and new community partnerships associated with Interactive Learning events to expand diverse audience attendance 
  • In collaboration with the Membership and Marketing Coordinator, support program coordination and staffing of community engagement events both onsite and offsite, including participation in local festivals, fairs, and STEAM outreach programs
  • Support the planning and execution of programming for large events and community partner days hosted onsite at The Tech Interactive
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of Interactive Learning team programs, offerings, and material purchasing schedules  
  • Facilitate hands-on public and field trip programming, including but not limited to workshops, and other educational experiences taking place on the gallery floor


Organizational Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively across departments to support membership goals and community engagement initiatives.
  • Contribute to cross-department communication and training efforts to ensure staff understand their role in supporting membership and engagement strategies.
  • Support marketing, outreach, and program initiatives as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit administration, museum studies, communications, or a related field.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings as needed.
  • Experience supporting educational programs, community engagement initiatives, or event coordination
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and data management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences and community partners.
  • Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and ability to represent the organization professionally.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

Working Conditions and Schedule

  • This is an on-site role with the possibility of flexibility for working some days at an alternative work location. Flexibility will vary depending on the needs of the job.
  • Highly flexible schedule, working occasional evenings and weekends will be required.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license. 
  • Frequently moves objects up to 50 pounds.
