Position Title: Scheduling Coordinator
Location: Hackensack, NJ 07601
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract
Shift: Day Shift (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 40 hours per week
Job Summary:
Support the Heart Failure and Pulmonary Hypertension program by managing patient scheduling, front desk operations, insurance verification, and coordination of clinical appointments and procedures in a high-volume healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients and visitors in a professional manner
- Perform patient check-in and front desk duties
- Handle high-volume incoming calls and messages
- Provide post-visit instructions and follow-up scheduling support
- Coordinate scheduling of tests, procedures, and surgeries
- Manage physician calendars and appointment adjustments
- Schedule pre-op testing, medical clearances, and post-op visits
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Support surgical billing coordination and documentation tracking
- Participate in departmental and surgical coordination meetings
- Provide cross-coverage support as needed
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years healthcare experience required
- Strong front desk or medical office experience preferred
- Experience handling high-volume phone calls required
- Strong data entry and organizational skills required
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Epic or cardiology workflow experience preferred
