Job Summary and Qualifications

What You Will Do in This Role: 

  • The OR Scheduler is responsible for performing duties to efficiently utilize all available suite times in OR. Is responsible for assisting with management of the OR front desk and data entry into the computer for all areas.  
  • Activities reflect collaboration between all health care team members and support of the objectives, goals and policies of the Department of Peri-operative Services. 
  • Responsible for proper management of supplies and equipment, and for promoting teamwork with physicians and their office staffs along with the hospital employees. 
  • The Surgical Scheduler provides care for pediatric/child patients between 6 months to 11 years of age; adolescent patients between 12 to 17 years of age; adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older. 
  • Accountable for identification of risks, hazards and mitigation efforts of unsafe practices. 
What Qualifications You Will Need: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years clerical, computer experience and medical terminology required
  • Good customer service and attention to detail required. 
  • Good telephone and communication skills a must.
