Position: Interpreter Services Scheduler Assistant

The Interpreter Services Scheduler/Assistant is a high-profile role with substantial responsibility, providing support to Interpreter Services program. This role will evaluate and coordinate daily language interpretation requests to ensure the delivery of interpreter services to limited English proficiency (LEP) and deaf patients, including direct responsibility for scheduling appointments with language vendors. The Scheduler/Assistant will also perform as a medical interpreter to our Spanish-speaking patients when assigned. Other duties include maintaining an accurate log of interpreting services concerns/requests/etc., working with the System Interpreter Services Coordinator to assure compliance with policies and legal requirements regarding communication with LEP and deaf patients, and maintaining the confidentiality of patient and other sensitive information. The Scheduler/Assistant will also provide occasional clerical support to the Integrated Care Management Department (ICM), including ordering supplies, processing maintenance requests, etc.

Fluent in English and Spanish, with excellent verbal, telephone, and written communication skills.
