Join Utah Valley University's Library team and help create a welcoming, service-oriented environment that supports student success and lifelong learning. In this role, you will be one of the primary points of contact for library patrons, assisting with circulation services, answering questions, checking materials in and out, processing minor fines and fees, and helping students, faculty, and community members access the resources they need. You will also contribute to maintaining clean, organized, and inviting library spaces while supporting the daily operations of a vital campus resource.
This position offers a consistent part-time schedule of Wednesday and Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday until library close (9:15 p.m.), and Saturday until library close (6:15 p.m.), making it an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking evening and weekend work. Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year of experience performing duties related to the essential functions of this position.
Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish proficiently.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge of frontline customer service experience.
Knowledge of computer operations, with basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, Teams, Google Docs, and internet browsers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work a fixed schedule.
Ability to work well with others and independently.
Ability to pay attention to detail, follow rules, and adhere to expectations.
Ability to be approachable.

Utah Valley University was established in 1941 as Central Utah Vocational School (CUVS) with the primary function of providing war production training. CUVS was part of the Provo School District located in south Provo. The institution received a state appropriation in March 1945 of $50,000 to operate for the 1945-1947 biennium. In 1947, the school received funding as a permanent state institution. A new site for the school was acquired on University Avenue in Provo in 1948; in the 1952, the state appropriated funding for the first construction on that site. As enrollments grew, the state acquired over 185 acres in southwest Orem and the first building was completed in 1977. Today, the University’s facilities consist of a combined total of 412 acres with 50 buildings with campuses in Orem, Provo, and Heber City and property in Vineyard and at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi.
