SAS Viya Administrator

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

• Design and architect SAS Viya deployments based on business, performance, and scalability requirements
• Install, configure, and deploy SAS Viya in cloud and on-premises environments
• Administer and manage CAS (Cloud Analytic Services) and SAS Compute including session management and resource allocation
• Experience with managing containerized workloads, namespaces, ingress, storage classes, persistent volumes, and other Kubernetes resources.
• Install, patch, upgrade, and validate SAS Viya software releases.
• Monitor system health, logs, events, and resource utilization across SAS and Kubernetes environments
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve platform, application, and connectivity issues
• Implement performance tuning for CAS, compute servers, and supporting services
• Conduct capacity planning and forecast infrastructure growth requirements

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design and architect SAS Viya deployments based on business, performance, and scalability requirements
• Install, configure, and deploy SAS Viya in cloud and on-premises environments
• Administer and manage CAS (Cloud Analytic Services) and SAS Compute including session management and resource allocation
• Experience with managing containerized workloads, namespaces, ingress, storage classes, persistent volumes, and other Kubernetes resources.
• Install, patch, upgrade, and validate SAS Viya software releases.
• Monitor system health, logs, events, and resource utilization across SAS and Kubernetes environments
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve platform, application, and connectivity issues
• Implement performance tuning for CAS, compute servers, and supporting services
• Conduct capacity planning and forecast infrastructure growth requirements
• Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies
• Perform regular recovery drills to validate disaster recovery readiness
• Manage user authentication and authorization using LDAP/Active Directory/SAML/OAuth
• Implement encryption for data at rest and in transit (TLS, certificates, key management)
• Integrate SAS Viya with enterprise databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, etc.) and validate secure connectivity.
• Automate administrative tasks using Python, Shell scripting, and CI/CD pipelines
• Implement automated monitoring, alerting, and incident response mechanisms
• Utilize monitoring tools (Prome theus, Grafana, etc.) for observability
• Optimize cloud resource utilization and manage cost efficiency
• Create and maintain detailed architecture diagrams and system documentation
• Develop installation guides, operational runbooks, and standard operating procedures
• Support SAS Studio, Model Studio, and other Viya applications
• Assist SAS developers and analysts with onboarding, environment usage, and troubleshooting
• Coordinate with storage, network, database, and security teams for platform alignment
• Participate in change management processes for environment updates and enhancements
• Ensure compliance with IT governance, audit requirements, and regulatory standards
• Evaluate new tools, features, and methodologies to improve SAS platform operations
• Serve as escalation point for production incidents and critical system issues
• Conduct periodic health checks and recommend system improvements
• Maintain configuration management and environment version control
• Support migration activities from legacy SAS environments to SAS Viya

Salary Range: $140,000 to $160,000 per year
