Job Title: SAP SCM Functional Manufacturing Specialist
Contract Duration: 1 year, possible extension
Location: Waukegan, IL
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Pay Rate: $90-95 per hour

Summary
The SAP SCM Functional Manufacturing Specialist will play a key role in designing, configuring, and supporting SAP solutions that enable manufacturing, quality, and supply chain operations. This individual will partner closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and efficient system solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead SAP functional design, configuration, and implementation across manufacturing and supply chain modules
  • Support projects within SAP manufacturing, supply chain, and quality, including initial work in SAP archiving
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and translate business needs into functional specifications
  • Configure and support SAP modules including:
    • Production Planning (PP)
    • Production Execution (PP-PI / PP-DS)
    • Quality Management (QM)
    • Warehouse Management (WM/EWM)
    • Inventory and logistics operations
  • Execute testing, validation, and system enhancements (unit, integration, UAT support)
  • Create and manage project documentation (functional specs, test scripts, change requests, validation artifacts)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including OTC, RTR, PTP, ABAP, Security, MDG, and integration teams (EDI/TIBCO)
  • Participate in project meetings, intake sessions, and release/change management activities
  • Provide functional architecture input, including integration design and alignment to SAP roadmap
  • Support system upgrades, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Experience
  • SAP Production & Planning Expertise (PP, PI, DS, WM)
    • Strong experience using SAP ECC 6 to support production execution, production planning, and warehouse management, including configuration and optimization of related modules.
  • Quality & Manufacturing Systems (QM, LIMS, POMS/MES)
    • Ability to work across quality management and manufacturing systems, ensuring processes are configured correctly and aligned with operational and compliance requirements.
  • Project Leadership & SAP Configuration
    • Proven ability to lead SAP-related projects, gather requirements, and configure necessary system objects from design through implementation (intermediate to advanced level).
  • Experience working in SAP ECC 6 environments
  • Proven ability to lead projects and configure SAP objects independently
  • Experience with manufacturing-focused SAP implementations
  • Background in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry (required)
  • Strong skills in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and system configuration
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with documentation and ticketing tools:
    • Solution Manager
    • ALM
    • ServiceNow
  • Experience with LIMS, MES (e.g., POMS) integrations
  • Exposure to SAP solution architecture and cross-functional integration design
  • Prior experience working with global SAP teams and large-scale implementations
Qualifications
  • 10–15+ years of SAP SCM experience across manufacturing and supply chain modules
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Prior experience in project leadership or functional architecture is a plus
