Location(s) of role: St Louis, Missouri

  • Start: ASAP
  • Duration: 12 months +
  • Location: Hybrid (ideally 2-3 days per week in St.Louis)

Our client has an exciting opportunity available for a SAP Basis Administrator. In this role you will be part of a global team working on challenging, meaningful projects impacting core business activities.

Overview

The person in this role demonstrates a high level of professionalism, prioritizing the support and maintenance of the SAP instances and database. Responsibilities include proactive monitoring, system copies, transport management, upgrades and support package application. This role requires a very good team player who can also work unsupervised, to solve technical problems and prevent future issues to contribute to our client''s global strategy and operational excellence.

Essential Functions: Main Accountabilities

  • Contribute to all technical projects and processes related to SAP Technical Solutions
  • Ensure efficient and effective running of all SAP systems through proactive maintenance and planning.
  • Apply support packages and upgrades as required to applications and databases.
  • Deliver technical projects within the BTP landscape; Document & reporting compliance and Cloud ALM.
  • Ensure audit compliance of all technical processes.
  • Perform System Copies
  • Manage & test the disaster recovery process.
  • Assist hardware partners and data center teams to effectively manage the patch levels and compliance of all infrastructure and operating systems.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Successful delivery and implementation of assigned tasks within SAP Technical projects.
  • Effectiveness of working alongside the MSP to provide a high level of support and meet incident SLAs.
  • Timely and accurate resolution of complex SAP-related issues and support requests.
  • Contribution to the knowledge base and best practices within the SAP Technical domain.

Major Opportunities and Decisions

  • Analyzing complex and non-routine SAP problems that may require extensive investigation to understand, solution debugging, applying acquired expertise to find solutions

Key Relationships, Stakeholders & Interfaces (External & Internal)

Internal: Global and regional Business Process Owners, other BT Global Solutions teams, BT Infrastructure, End Users. External: SAP vendors, implementation partners, technical consultants.

Knowledge and Technical Competencies

  • At least 5 years of demonstrable SAP Basis experience
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP Basis across a wide range of SAP products
  • Expertise in SAP implementations and upgrades running on HANA databases
  • Proficiency in Linux, AIX and Windows operating systems with respect to managing SAP systems
  • Experience of BTP with respect to DRC and cALM
  • Experience in OpenText archiving products and transactional archiving processes within SAP
  • Deep understanding of change management and software logistics within a SAP environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical and business problems effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage project deliverables effectively.

Minimum Requirements: Education/Experience

Bachelor''s degree with minimum 5 years of position related experience in SAP Basis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience level. Has in-depth knowledge in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
