The ideal candidate will combine their employee, planning, and time management skills, along with their software engineering expertise to manage a technical team using agile development methodologies to deliver results. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who are passionate about leading technical resources in designing robust, maintainable, and innovative software solutions.

  • Manages technical staff of SAP software engineers for the Information Technology (IT) Enterprise Applications, Data and Analytics organization.
  • Managing technical staff including all employee administration requirements associated with Compensation, Time and Attendance, Performance, and work load.
  • Provides direction, coaches, and mentors' technical staff based on general policies and management guidance to excel in software engineering techniques and practices utilizing agile principals.
  • Work closely with customers for requirements and budget planning necessary to effectively fund and manage the design, development and maintenance of SAP applications to include the development of Statements of Work.
  • Work closely with functional and business team members, project management, enterprise architects, system engineers, and application developers to manage the support, upgrade, and the design and development of special purpose customizations of SAP applications based on approved architecture and business requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to defined project management policies, change management guidelines, cyber security requirements, and quality assurance processes.
  • Effective communication skills and demonstrated success providing leadership in a team environment is required
  • Collaborates with other Information Technology organizations to ensure seamless integration and operational efficiency of SAP applications within the broader PXD IT landscape

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • OR Applicants without a bachelors degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 13 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Experience leading SAP applications development teams and projects.
  • Experience in coaching and developing staff, individually and in team settings.
  • Knowledge of SAP programming language(s) and upgrade experience (Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP), FIORI, S/4 HANA, Support Packs).
  • Knowledge of programming languages and frameworks (Java, JavaScript, JQuery, React, HyperText Markup Language 5 (HTML5), Extensible Markup Language (XML), etc.) nice-to-have.
  • Knowledge of Oracle or other relational database management systems with experience in Structured Query Language (SQL) and Procedural Language/Structured Query Language (PL/SQL).
  • Knowledge of Integrated Development Environments such as (SAP GUI, T-CODES, Visual Studio, Eclipse, and SAP Web Integrated Development Environment (IDE)).
  • Knowledge of Version control tool such as Team Foundation Server (TFS), GIT, Apache Subversion (SVN), or other code repositories.
  • Experience with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

The minimum education and experience for the lowest career level in the job posting range are listed under Minimum Job Requirements. Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10 CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
