POSITION SUMMARY
Borden Dairy is seeking a detail‑oriented, quality‑driven professional to join our team as a Sanitation Supervisor. In this critical role, you will oversee facility cleanliness, lead the sanitation team, and ensure all sanitation activities meet regulatory, certification, and company standards. As a key member of the Quality Assurance team, you will help protect product safety, support compliance, and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient production environment. Routine inspections, documentation, and training are essential components of this position.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct and participate in plant and equipment cleaning to ensure sanitation practices meet all regulatory, certification, and company standards, including CIP, GMPs, SSOPs, SDS, HACCP, and SQF
- Inspect, verify, and document sanitation work to ensure compliance and effectiveness
- Train, orient, coach, supervise, and evaluate sanitation staff on SSOPs, GMPs, chemical handling, sanitary procedures, and company policies
- Serve as an active member of the Quality Assurance team, communicating concerns and ensuring adherence to all applicable rules and regulations
- Develop, maintain, and improve sanitation procedures, including the master cleaning schedule, sanitation programs, and work instructions
- Manage cleaning chemical inventory and concentration; ensure proper handling, storage, and use of chemicals
- Monitor and maintain CIP systems, ensuring proper operation and adequate supply levels
- Monitor and enforce employee safety practices, including lockout/tagout, chemical safety, proper lifting techniques, and required PPE usage
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED required; BS/BA preferred
- Strong knowledge of sanitation practices in a food manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of HACCP, chemical safety, lockout/tagout, SDS, confined space, and OSHA requirements
- 2–3 years of sanitation and/or supervisory experience
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to work weekends and varying shifts (days, evenings, nights)
- Regular and reliable attendance is essential
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods
- Ability to work in cold, wet, and damp environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Occasional reaching, climbing, pulling, stooping, bending, and kneeling
