POSITION TITLE: Sales Support Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Contract Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Sales
FLSA STATUS: Nonexempt + commission
Position Objective: The Sales Support Coordinator supports the Sales Team in the management of accounts to ensure customer needs are met, customer relationships are optimized, and growth strategies are achieved. Functions as the Account Manager internally and engages and manages customer relationships externally as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Account Coordination and Support:
- Supports Account Managers, Account Executives, providing service via phone, email and instant messaging to a defined book of customers. Facilitate and administer samples, document requests, and presentations.
- Pull data from ERP system to analyze purchase orders through v-lookup, pivot tables, and other excel functions.
- Coordinates with Quality to create COA and quality paperwork to distribute directly to Wholesale customers.
- Responsible for the collection and distribution of data by interacting with a variety of internal departments.
- Provides support in executing customer projects and initiatives.
- Assist the Account Manager by updating the pipeline by reviewing deals and moving them through the process.
- Follow-up with customers regarding pending quotes.
- Join meetings with customers on and on behalf of the Account Manager. Facilitate in-house customer visits.
- Maintains top core Account contact lists and coordinates communication with these customers, as necessary.
- Functions as the account manager internally on selected Accounts.
- Assists with pricing requests, and negotiations for selected Accounts. (c/p pricing, expired pricing extensions, fiscal year spreadsheet SAP load)
- May support other sales teams and functions as needed on both the ingredients and wholesale side
Project Coordination for Key Projects:
- Attend internal meetings weekly.
- Communicates regularly with sales, BUs (Application and Category Leaders), QC and Regulatory functions on behalf of the Account Manager throughout project lifecycle.
- In conjunction with Account Managers, manages all or portions of customer projects from inception to close of sale. Tracks timelines, project requirements and completes project pre-checks before project status meetings.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Intermediate level of proficiency in Excel and knowledge of formulas and functions
- Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft suite of products.
- Proficient English communications skills.
- Demonstrate strong math skills.
- Preferred Sales experience in the Natural Products or Food Manufacturing Industries involving ingredients or technical sales.
- Preferred technical or science-oriented background
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Job requires frequent, confined sitting, standing, walking, and finger dexterity.
- Position is full time in office, Sacramento, CA.
