Sales Manager – Scientific EquipmentLocation: Chicago, Illinois / Hybrid-Field BasedMetrohm USA is hiring a Sales Manager responsible for expanding and overseeing sales of our Titration and Ion Chromatography product lines throughout the Midwest. The Midwest region encompasses Illinois to Kansas and then north to North Dakota and Wisconsin. This role is ideal for experienced sales professionals looking to take the next step into management, as well as current managers seeking a new leadership opportunity. Candidates must reside within the region, with a strong preference for those based in the Chicago area.The Sales Manager will play a key role in driving profitable growth, developing sales talent, and collaborating across teams to strengthen customer relationships and regional performance.What You Will DoOwn the profitable achievement of sales objectives within your assigned territory.Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing sales team through performance management, field coaching, and engagement.Proactively inspect sales activity, including strategic accounts and special market projects.Coach sales representatives using SPIN selling concepts and opportunity management best practices.Recruit, hire, and develop sales talent in partnership with the Sales Director.Lead forecasting and pipeline management efforts for the sales team.Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product Management, Business Development, and Strategic Accounts to drive results.Build strong internal relationships and function as a connector across departments.Provide regular market, competitive, and customer feedback to Product Management.Ensure consistent and effective use of CRM tools and sales processes.Communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Apply advanced problem‑solving skills to support business growth and customer success.Location & Travel ExpectationsThis role supports the Midwest region and requires candidates to reside within the Midwest, preferably in Chicago. Those who are not located in Chicago must travel to the Chicago office once a month. To meet customer, sales, and team needs throughout the region, overnight travel may be required for up to 50% of the time.What You BringBachelor's degree in chemistry or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).5–7 years of industry‑related sales experience.3+ years of sales team leadership experience preferred, including hiring, coaching, training, and performance management.Demonstrated ability to motivate teams, set goals, resolve conflict, and achieve financial and operational results.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build constructive, effective working relationships.Strategic mindset with a hands‑on leadership approach.Compensation & BenefitsBase salary range $110,000–$145,000 annually, with additional incentive/bonus opportunity based on performance.
