We are seeking a Sales Manager to lead residential construction sales within a design-build and general contractor environment.
This is a full-cycle sales role responsible for generating pipeline, developing client relationships, and closing custom homes, build-on-your-lot projects, and high-end renovations. You will own the process from lead generation through signed construction contracts, directly driving revenue and backlog.
This role is ideal for someone with strong construction knowledge who thrives in a client-facing, revenue-driven environment.
Responsibilities
Build and manage a pipeline of residential construction opportunities (custom homes, remodels, build-on-your-lot)
Prospect new business through referrals, networking, outreach, FSBO, and landowner engagement
Lead client consultations to define scope, budget, and feasibility
Review and interpret plans, specifications, and design concepts
Develop detailed estimates, proposals, and pricing models
Present proposals and close high-value construction contracts
Negotiate contract terms and manage execution through handoff to construction teams
Collaborate with architects, designers, and project managers
Maintain strong client communication throughout preconstruction
Support marketing and business development efforts
Requirements
5+ years of experience in residential construction sales (custom homes or major renovations required)
Proven track record of closing high-value projects (custom, luxury, or design-build preferred)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and construction documents
Experience developing estimates, proposals, and pricing for residential builds
Strong client-facing communication and closing skills
Experience working with subcontractors and sourcing pricing
Background in a general contractor or design-build environment (required)
Full ownership of sales cycle (pipeline close) (not just support roles)
