POSITION OVERVIEW –
The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth and managing key customer relationships for the brand. This role is highly relationship-focused and will lead both direct account management and the oversight of independent manufacturer representatives.
 
This position is open to candidates located in the state of Florida, ideally with strong familiarity and connections within the outdoor, fishing, or marine markets. The role involves regular travel to customer locations, trade shows, and industry events.
 
This role reports to senior leadership and works closely with marketing, product development, and operations.
 
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES -
  • Own and manage top accounts, building long-term, value-driven customer relationships
  • Identify, develop, and grow new customer opportunities within the outdoor, fishing, and specialty retail channels
  • Enable, manage, and support independent manufacturer representatives to drive consistent brand execution and sales performance
  • Develop account-specific growth strategies, including assortment planning, merchandising, promotions, and product launches
  • Collaborate with marketing on product positioning, trade shows, and go-to-market initiatives
  • Analyze sales performance, customer trends, and market opportunities to inform strategy and forecasting
  • Represent brand at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings
  • Maintain strong internal communication with manufacturing, customer service, and leadership teams
  • Accompany Reps on calls and visits to related customer meetings and presentations.
  • Travel with and without Reps to visit marinas to promote and sell products, and to develop relationships with boat captains to promote brand.
 
 External Business Relationships:
Continuous contact with key national chain distributors, wholesalers, sporting goods stores and chains, marinas, tackle shops, and captains to bring them into the company’s customer sphere.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE–
  • Proven experience in sales, account management, or business development
  • Strong relationship-management and customer acquisition skills
  • Experience working with independent manufacturer reps strongly preferred
  • Background or demonstrated familiarity with the outdoor, fishing, or sporting goods industry highly desirable
  • Solid understanding of merchandising, retail strategy, and wholesale distribution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing multiple accounts and priorities
  • Must be based in Florida and willing to travel regularly (primarily E Coast) to support customers, reps, and industry events
