About the Role:
Job Overview:
$80,000 - $120,000 USD base salary, plus an aggressive sales team performance bonus. Earn up to 10% bonus when the sales team reaches 100% of quota, scale up to a 25% bonus when the team hits 200% of quota, and continue earning scaled rewards for further overperformance.
LendAPI is seeking a dynamic, technically adept Sales Engineer to bridge the gap between technical execution and enterprise sales. In this role, you will act as the primary technical advisor and product advocate during the pre sales cycle, working hand in hand with account executives to win high value platform deals.
You will lead technical discovery calls, present live product demonstrations, design solution architectures, and address integration requirements like APIs, decision engines, and data orchestration for prospective clients. Because your technical expertise directly drives revenue growth, this position includes a performance based bonus program tied to the sales team's quota achievement. What You Will Do:
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Pre Sales Leadership: Partner with the sales team to lead technical discovery sessions, answer complex architecture and API questions, and demonstrate the core capabilities of the LendAPI platform to prospective clients.
Custom Demos and Proof of Concepts: Build, configure, and deliver tailored product walkthroughs and proof of concepts showcasing custom decision engines, loan origination workflows, and third party data integrations like KYC, KYB, and credit bureau access.
Requirements Discovery and Scoping: Translate prospective clients' business goals and technical specs into actionable platform configurations and API integration plans.
Engineering Alignment: Work closely with backend software engineers, product managers, and executive leaders to translate client feedback, scoped feature requests, and edge cases into technical tickets.
Technical Request Ownership: Take point on answering technical questionnaires, security compliance reviews, and integration documentation during enterprise deal cycles.
About You:
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Aptitude: Proven experience understanding software architectures, RESTful APIs, JSON payloads, and workflow automation tools. Ability to read API documentation and troubleshoot integration requests alongside engineers.
Fintech, Banking, or Financing Background: 2 plus years of experience working within fintech, commercial banking, lending technology, or credit decisioning environments.
Client Facing Presence: Excellent communication and presentation skills with a natural ability to convey complex technical concepts to both engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field like Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics, or equivalent practical technical experience.
Problem Solver: Highly organized, proactive, and capable of prioritizing multiple client opportunities in a fast paced environment.
Systems and Workflow Literacy: Experience creating technical tickets in tools like Jira or GitHub, building process flow diagrams, or configuring SaaS workflows.
