Must be able to work weekends (we are open 7 days per week).
We're looking for an individual who is knowledgable about plants in Florida, and is passionate about working in a nursery to join our growing team. The ideal candidate would feel comfortable in a high-energy, fast-paced position at a busy plant nursery. You'll be helping multiple customers at once, using the register, and guiding customers on plants, sod, rock, and landscape materials. This not a slow retail job---you need to be able to think fast, multitask, and communicate clearly under pressure.
Qualities the job requires: plant knowledge, fast learner, self-starter, retains information, flexible, good time management skills, provides great customer service, positive personality, completes assigned tasks in a timely manner, and is a team player.
The candidate must be comfortable working in the office and in the nursery (outside) on site. Please do not apply if you're not comfortable working outside.
Here are some of the job duties:
- Knowledge of the sod, plants, palms, mulch and materials we sell.
- Taking orders.
- Scheduling deliveries.
- Taking sod estimates.
- Assisting customers with plant selection, mulch, rocks, and pottery in the nursery.
- Helping organize the nursery (plants, pottery, etc).
- Interest in landscaping design is a plus.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Must be able to multitask.
Skills Required:
- Able to use a register, computer, WORD, Google Docs, iPhone, and count money.
- Being bi-lingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
- A valid driver's license is required for this position.
Monday-Friday the hours are 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
Saturday the hours are 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
Sundays the hours are from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
