Sales Applications Engineer – Air FiltrationLouisville, KYPosition ObjectiveThe Applications Engineer – Air Filtration achieves annual bookings, revenue, and margin targets for Regional Retrofits and Aftermarket business, completes technical engineering development and cost estimating of retrofit equipment for the AAF Energy Business, and provides Project Engineering support of live contracts.Key AccountabilitiesWorking with the Sales team to proactively develop aftermarket opportunities for upgrade, retrofit, and filter replacement.In conjunction with Director Engineering and Service, the RSMs and subcontractors, provide technical and commercial assistance on proposal development for filter outages and retrofits as needed.When applicable, perform inlet inspections and diagnostics of air intakes and support systems.Become the trusted advisor for key accounts with the RSMs. Develop, retain, and nurture key customer relationships and become a strategic partner and advisor to key accounts.Recommend solutions by identifying new product opportunities, and/or product, packaging, and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.Review RFQ documents providing technical and commercial solutions based on AAF's capabilities.Liaise with subcontractors to develop costing solutions.Prepare tender and contract documents.Identify and recommend product/system improvements or additions to meet customer satisfaction and financial goals.Participate in technical meetings and direct communications with customers or field sales offices.Prepare and distribute literature, technical data and promotional material to customers and sales offices.Maintain a teamwork philosophy with other departments to facilitate problem solving and provide good customer service.Provide post contract award project engineering support to project manager, including design, drawing approval, BOM creation, quality requirements definition, and interaction with customer and suppliers post award.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.Experience in a technical industry desired; machinery/engineering preferred.Must articulate a full understanding of filtration on rotating equipment.Exhibit solid business acumen including the ability to interpret and analyze blueprints, estimate preparation, presentation and proposal.Experience with filtration product in a Sales, Estimating, or Project Management capacity.Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task.Strong organizational skills with aggressive follow-through and closing skills.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.Excellent, proven interpersonal, verbal / written communications and organizational skills.Demonstrated ability to multi‑task and work in a fast‑paced setting.Equal OpportunityAAF International is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran.
