Sales Application Specialist (Inside Sales)

Velocity Flow Technologies is seeking a customer-focused and technically minded Sales Application Specialist to support customers throughout the sales process by providing application engineering assistance, preparing quotations, troubleshooting product applications, and delivering exceptional customer service.

In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for assigned sales territories, partnering closely with Regional Sales Managers, manufacturer representatives, engineering teams, and manufacturing personnel to ensure customer needs are met accurately and efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, building customer relationships, and identifying opportunities to provide additional value through Vortex products and solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong customer service skills with technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering timely solutions that support customer success and company growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide application support and recommend product solutions to customers.
• Prepare quotations and process customer orders.
• Assist customers with order status, returns, and troubleshooting.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities and support sales growth.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Attend occasional trade shows and customer visits (minimal travel).
  

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

• 2–5 years of experience in technical sales, customer service, inside sales, or a related field preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand technical product applications.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and data entry accuracy.
• Experience with ERP systems such as CSI, SyteLine, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business software applications.

This is a salary-exempt position that requires working Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs.

This position will also require the occasional travel outside of the organization from a minimum of 0-2 weeks per year.

There is no relocation package with this job. Candidate must live within 30 miles of Salina location.
