Job Overview
As a Safety Valve Technician, you will play a critical role in assembling and testing safety valve components. You will ensure compliance with engineering standards and maintain high-quality workmanship. If you are detail-oriented and enjoy hands-on work, this position is an excellent fit for you.
Responsibilities
- Repair safety relief valves to National Board VR Code standards
- Test safety valves using air, water, and steam
- Read and interpret manufacturer drawings and spring charts
- Understand steam boiler operations and testing
- Apply measurement and math skills to verify critical dimensions
- Perform machine and hand lapping of nozzles and discs
- Conduct valve write-ups
- Pressure and leak test valves according to National Board, API, and ASME standards
Work Environment
- Fast-paced and noisy workshop
- Long-standing hours
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs, frequently up to 50 lbs
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of related experience
- Experience with the assembly of safety valves preferred
- Proficiency with dial calipers and micrometers
Preferences
- Experience with Consolidated products
- Ability to read and interpret assembly manuals
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Familiarity with SAP or ERP systems
Shift Details
- 1st Shift: 7 am to 3 pm, Monday – Friday
