Location: Chino, California

Compensation: $80,000 – $90,000 annually

A leading utility and infrastructure construction company is seeking a Safety Supervisor to support field operations throughout Southern California. The company specializes in overhead and underground electrical utility construction, including conduit systems, underground structures, high-voltage installations, civil support services, and related infrastructure improvements for public and private sector clients.

Position Summary

The Safety Supervisor will support and administer the company’s environmental health and safety programs while promoting a proactive safety culture across field operations. This individual will work closely with project teams and field personnel to ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and applicable regulatory requirements while helping maintain a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support company-wide safety and health programs across active construction projects and field operations.
• Coordinate and conduct employee safety orientations, toolbox talks, training sessions, and certification programs while maintaining accurate documentation and records.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and provide recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; identify root causes and implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Perform regular field inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company safety standards.
• Analyze inspection findings and incident trends to determine additional training or corrective action needs.
• Assist with the selection, procurement, tracking, and distribution of approved safety equipment and PPE.
• Coordinate fleet and driver safety initiatives and remain current on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
• Maintain working knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable environmental and transportation compliance standards.
• Compile and analyze safety metrics, injury trends, and loss data to support reporting and continuous improvement efforts.
• Support employee engagement initiatives including safety recognition and awareness programs.
• Participate in professional safety organizations, meetings, and industry-related activities as appropriate.
• Assist with emergency response, first aid, and rescue-related activities as needed.
• Review safety documentation and reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal procedures.
• Collaborate with project management and field leadership to promote a strong culture of safety accountability.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of safety experience within construction, civil, utility, underground, or infrastructure-related industries.
• Utility construction experience is highly desirable.
• OSHA 30 Construction Certification required.
• Valid California Driver’s License (Class C minimum required).
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and the ability to enforce safety policies and procedures effectively.
• Ability to identify hazardous conditions and implement corrective actions in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of applicable safety regulations, regulatory requirements, and industry standards related to construction and general industry operations.
• Familiarity with EPA, DOT, and related compliance standards preferred.
• Experience supporting high-voltage, underground utility, or heavy civil construction projects is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience

• Electrical utility, transmission & distribution (T&D), underground utility, or infrastructure project experience.
• Experience working in active construction environments with multiple subcontractors and field crews.
• Bilingual communication skills are a plus but not required.
