Safety Specialist

Location: Oakdale, CA (Onsite)

Employment Type: Contract

Pay Rate: $38.00 per hour

Shift Options:

  • 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM

  • 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Job Summary

LHH is seeking a Safety Specialist to support environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This role will help drive safety performance, support compliance programs, and contribute to a safe and injury-free workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain systems to track facility inspections, safety violations, corrective actions, and follow-up activities

  • Monitor and report on EHS metrics and initiatives against established goals

  • Assist with implementation of safety programs, training systems, and corporate initiatives

  • Participate in accident investigations and prepare detailed incident reports

  • Support monitoring of employee health and safety activities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining emergency action plans

  • Promote safety initiatives focused on achieving zero injuries

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or related field or 3+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience or familiarity with safety practices in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodologies

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing and walking, with occasional sitting

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

  • Frequent use of hands and arms, including reaching, bending, and crouching

  • Exposure to varying temperatures and a noisy work environment

  • Requires visual abilities including close vision, distance vision, and depth perception
