YOUR NEW ROLE AS A SAFETY SPECIALIST

This Safety Specialist job is full-time, Monday through Friday. Most work happens between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. You will travel to different job sites in the area, and you will spend most of your time out in the field.

You will visit job sites around Casselberry. You will look for any risks and make sure everything meets standards. You will walk through sites, check on equipment, and talk with crews about safety. You will join meetings, help with accident reports, and make sure injuries are written down correctly. You will also check how subcontractors are doing with safety, and if something is not right, you will help fix it. Part of your job will be to give talks and share updates with managers. Most of your time will be on job sites, with some work done in the office.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of construction or safety experience
• Good driving record, vehicle insurance, and reliable vehicle
• Ability to identify onsite project risks and recommend mitigation within safety and project program requirements
• General knowledge of construction site equipment, methods, and processes
• Ability to take on special tasks or projects with limited direction and oversight, as well as take ownership of assigned tasks, as defined by supervisor
• Strong multitasking, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Growing knowledge to control or eliminate hazards following the company's methods

A bachelor's degree in organizational health and safety or a related field is preferred.
