Job Summary

Safety Manager is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of Health, Safety and Security policies while complying with OSHA and EPA standards. The Safety Manager will provide leadership and guidance through change management and enhancing a culture of safety awareness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and develop procedures with management that effectively identify and control hazards to prevent injury.
  • Develops and implements safety programs, processes, and procedures that ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Aides in the development of new managers in the organization in areas of safety and health and drives change as needed.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely reporting of incidents and metrics to appropriate governmental agencies and risk management personnel.
  • Monitors accident trends to target areas of deficiency and makes recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
  • Coordinates industrial hygiene monitoring and identifies potential overexposures.
  • Assist in conducting training for team members, supervisors, and sub-contractors as needed.
  • Assist in conducting incident investigations and completing recordkeeping requirements.
  • Stay abreast of state and federal laws and regulation that impact general industry and construction.
  • Responsible for Workers' Compensation programs including injury management and oversight of Health Services.
  • Managing costs for the department.
  • Monitors daily activities to ensure a safe work environment, through training, audits, inspections, and enforcement.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the area of safety.
  • Lead internal teams, safety related activities and projects.
  • Partner with all departments, management and team members to promote safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.
