Construction Safety Manager
Location: Tarrytown, NY
Duration: 2 years (Start: 6/8)
Type: 1099 Contractor


Position Details

Hourly Rate: $65/hr (Local) $60 (non-local)
Per Diem: $225/Day Worked on Site
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule: 50+ hours, M-F, 1st shift, 5 10's


Project Scope

The Construction Safety Manager will oversee safety for a Mechanical contractor (union) working on the new build of a Pharma building


Qualifications (Required)

  • OSHA 30 and 10+ years of construction safety experience OR BCSP cert and 5+ years of construction safety experience.

  • Must have mechanical experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine safety audits, site inspections, and risk assessments across multiple project sites

  • Lead incident investigations, document findings, and implement corrective actions

  • Deliver safety orientations and ongoing training for employees, subcontractors, and new hires

  • Partner with project management and field teams to identify and mitigate safety risks proactively

  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, including incident reports, inspections, and compliance records

  • Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and site-specific safety requirements

  • Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across all levels of the project team


Skills & Knowledge

Skills:

  • Strong communication and public speaking abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

  • High level of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information

Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of EHS principles and construction safety regulations

  • Ability to effectively communicate and enforce safety standards and best practices

  • Familiarity with mechanical construction safety, particularly underground piping operations
