Job Title: Safety Manger 

Location: Multiple locations Available

Position Overview: 

The Safety Manager is responsible for leading the organization's safety programs across facilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while fostering a culture where safety is integrated into daily operations. This position provides leadership to the safety team, partners closely with operations leadership, and develops strategies that reduce risk, improve compliance, and strengthen employee engagement in workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead, coach, and develop Safety professionals, fostering a strong culture of engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Interpret, communicate, and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, regulatory guidance, and industry best practices.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously enhance safety management systems, policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Lead and oversee incident investigations, identify root causes, and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze injury, incident, near miss, and inspection data to identify trends, mitigate systemic risks, and drive continuous improvements.
  • Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to proactively conduct risk assessments, identify workplace hazards, and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Direct workplace audits, inspections, and behavioral safety observations to strengthen compliance and improve overall safety performance.
  • Manage and enhance the Industrial Hygiene program through assessments, workplace monitoring, and evaluations.
  • Develop and oversee safety training programs that build employee capability and reinforce safe work practices.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report key safety performance metrics, providing actionable insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Support Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) initiatives and lead improvement efforts.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field required.
  • 7+ years of progressive safety experience in manufacturing, shipbuilding, heavy industrial, construction, or related environments required.
  • Prior leadership experience managing direct report employees required.
  • Previous experience leading and developing company-wide safety programs across multiple locations required.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and maritime industry safety practices.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations, risk assessments, and safety audits.
  • Professional certifications (CSP, ASP, CIH or similar) preferred.
