Safety Manager Safety Division Branch Garden Grove, CA

Position Summary: Manages and coordinates safety activities for the assigned safety team to ensure that all safety requirements are met in the field and facilities.

Position Details: Conduct on-site safety inspections, observations, investigations, and ensure compliance with CalOSHA, State, Federal, NIOSH, and ANSI rules and regulations. Provides strategic and proactive direction on initiatives that will improve company Environmental Health and Safety performance through minimizing risks and liabilities. Review and approve critical lift plans to ensure all safety standards and protocols are met to prevent accidents, injuries, or damage to equipment and materials. Track safety metrics, analyze trends, and generate reports to demonstrate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Implement all aspects of company safety manual and ensure that field employees and subcontractors are complying. Provide guidance for departmental processes and activities, including compliance with safety regulations and the investigation of accidents. Provides leadership and recommendations regarding the design, implementation, and administration of all safety-related initiatives, policies, procedures, and processes. Review JHAs, AHAs, PTPs, and MOPs (Method of Procedures) plans to ensure safe work practices. Responsible for personal professional development. Maintain professional development through training seminars, etc., that enhances knowledge of environmental health and safety. Oversee safety training and compliance. Mentor and develop Safety Teams, fostering their professional growth and success. Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees within the organization, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others. Participate in the recruitment and hiring process for safety roles. Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment: Work mainly in field settings in day or night environments. Considerable indoor and outdoor work in hot, cold, humid, or rainy weather conditions is required to inspect various construction, commercial sites, and facilities. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate vehicles, tools, instruments, and related equipment. Extended periods of time on feet and walking or standing on even and uneven concrete floors or irregular surfaces or terrain, climbing ladders, steps, stairs, and bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, twisting, or pushing may be required at times. May encounter loud noises, flashing lights, strong smells, and dust. Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. may be required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Safety, Health, Environmental, Applied Sciences, or related discipline preferred. • 5 years of experience in Safety, including lead experience. • First Aid and CPR certification required. • OSHA 30 required. • OSHA 510 preferred. • OSHA 40 HAZWOPER preferred. • CHST or ASP certification required. • Rigging and signaling person credentials preferred. • California Class C Driver License with good DMV record is required. • Excellent oral and written communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence safety culture across all levels of the organization. • Strong knowledge of OSHA, CalOSHA, OSHA CFR 1926 standards, NFPA, NIOSH, ANSI, and EPA standards. • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. • Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and health and safety management audit systems and platforms. • Sound knowledge of safety operating processes and procedures.

Pay: Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For California, this ranges from $115,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year, plus annual incentive benefits and retirement program as outlined above.

Contingent Employment: All employment offers are contingent upon successful drug tests, background checks, and professional reference checks. Roles that include driving as an essential job duty will be required to have a successful Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR).
