Hours: 60-70 hours/week
Schedule: Monday-Saturday as needed
Shift: Night Shift | 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM
Project Scope
This position provides full-time safety oversight for a new AWS facility build in Florence, KY. The project involves energizing and testing data center servers prior to shipment and installation. The Safety Manager will oversee electrical safety operations in a high-activity, mission critical environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, NFPA 70E requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and client-specific protocols. The role requires close coordination with electrical contractors, commissioning teams, and site leadership to maintain a safe and compliant energized work environment.
Qualifications
OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 required
Strong experience with Lockout/Tagout procedures
Working knowledge of NFPA 70E standards
First Aid/CPR certification
Experience supporting electrical or data center construction projects preferred
Additional Requirements
Ability to work extended nightshift hours
Comfortable overseeing energized systems and high-voltage environments
Strong documentation and reporting capabilities
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced construction setting
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee site safety for energized data center build activities
- Enforce OSHA, NFPA 70E, and site-specific safety programs
- Monitor lockout/tagout procedures and electrical safety compliance
- Conduct daily safety inspections, audits, and field observations
- Lead site orientations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and compliance records
- Coordinate with project management and subcontractors on hazard mitigation and control measures
Skills
- Strong working knowledge of construction and electrical safety standards
- Experience with energized systems, LOTO procedures, and electrical commissioning environments
- Excellent leadership, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently on nightshift operations
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Knowledge Base
Expertise in OSHA 1926 standards, NFPA 70E compliance, and lockout/tagout best practices, with specific focus on energized electrical systems, commissioning processes, and mission critical data center environments.
