Our client is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead, coordinate, and continuously improve health and safety programs across its manufacturing operations. This position centralizes key safety, occupational health, and compliance activities shared across Human Resources and Operations and provides consistent oversight, subject-matter expertise, and accountability across a multi-site, multi-shift manufacturing environment.

The Safety Manager will strengthen the organization s safety culture by improving regulatory compliance, standardizing practices, enhancing employee training and emergency procedures, and using performance data to reduce workplace risk and prevent injuries. The position reports to the Vice President of Human Resources.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree
  • At least five years of safety or environmental, health, and safety experience in a manufacturing environment
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Experience conducting workplace incident investigations in manufacturing
  • Experience supporting multi-shift manufacturing operations
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operational environments
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to influence employees, supervisors, and organizational leaders
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to balance compliance requirements and operational practicality
  • Collaborative leadership style
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ISO 45001, OSHA VPP Star, or similar occupational safety management standards
  • Professional certification such as CSP, ASP, or CHST

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: $90,000-$115,000, based on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and administer the organization-wide health and safety management system
  • Evaluate existing safety programs and standardize effective practices across facilities and departments
  • Partner with Operations to integrate safety into production, quality, warehouse, and maintenance activities
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert for occupational health, industrial safety, and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, state, federal, and local safety regulations
  • Lead internal inspections, regulatory inspections, compliance reviews, and safety audits
  • Conduct job hazard analyses and workplace risk assessments
  • Track corrective actions and verify timely completion
  • Lead investigations involving injuries, near misses, safety concerns, and workplace incidents
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Coordinate workers compensation matters with Human Resources
  • Track and analyze safety performance indicators and prepare required reports
  • Develop and deliver employee safety training
  • Lead safety committees and employee engagement initiatives
  • Encourage proactive reporting of hazards and near misses
  • Partner with Human Resources on return-to-work programs and training documentation
  • Partner with Operations on equipment safety, lockout/tagout, capital projects, and contractor safety
  • Coordinate hearing testing, safety footwear programs, and industrial hygiene testing
  • Maintain OSHA logs, safety documentation, dashboards, and key performance indicators
  • Identify trends and recommend practical risk-reduction initiatives
  • Support environmental compliance and sustainability objectives
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned
