This position is responsible for implementing the company's safety and loss prevention programs. It ensures that job-site employees and subcontractors are trained in all safety protocols, including federal/state regulations, to prevent accidents and injuries. All work is local, so no overnight travel is involved.Essential FunctionsCoordinate and facilitate safety training and incentive programs, maintain safety statistics, perform accident investigations, and manage safety personnel and consultants. Specific tasks include:Conduct jobsite visits and safety audits as requiredPrepare project safety start-up packets, including new-hire and compliance materialsAssist superintendents with project-specific safety plansMaintain MSDS books and ensure they are available on-siteAddress environmental and hazardous material issuesTrack safety training for project personnelEnsure supervisors have up-to-date first aid certificationsMaintain safety recordsOversee the site's drug testing programRepresent the company at safety meetings and industry associationsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Safety & Environmental Health or Construction Management/Engineering5+ years of commercial construction safety experience2+ years of supervisory experienceProficiency with computers and Microsoft Office SuiteOSHA 30-hour certification requiredPreferred RequirementsExperience in commercial construction safetyAbout usBalfour Beatty US is a leading provider of general contracting, construction management, and design-build services nationwide.
