Tip Top Poultry, Inc. has an immediate opening for the position of Safety Director. The Safety Director reports to the Sr Director EHS, and will be responsible for providing day to day safety leadership and support for the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing safety leadership for Tip Top Poultry.
• Responsible for managing employee safety training and the Alchemy Training System.
• Maintain all site-specific written regulatory programs.
• Oversee and validate key compliance documents such as the OSHA 300 Log and the OSHA 300 A Summary.
• Communicate safety performance to Senior Leadership Team.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects or task at one time.
• Assist direct reports as needed.
• Conduct Safety Audits as a part of our Safety Management System.
• Maintain Safety Records to include file maintenance and management.
• Participate in auditing relevant safety processes such as programs, training, and records.
• Provide support for the sites Process Safety Management Program.
• Spend time in the facility developing positive relationships with Supervisors, Leads, and Employees.
• Assist Sr EHS Director as needed.
• Manage the initial injury response and triage phase of all workers' compensation cases, including incident investigation, root cause analysis, FROI submission, coordination with the occupational clinic and carrier, and witness statements.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk, climb, sit, bend, and perform light lifting (under 25 lbs.).
• Ability to work in an office cubicle setting.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Bachelors Degree (minimum) in Safety, EHS, or Biological/ Life Sciences.
• Safety experience in a food processing facility preferred.
• Ability to faciliate OSHA inspections.
• Working knowledge of Process Safety Management.
• Basic understanding of Workers Compensation.
• Ability to comprehend government regulations, safety audits and training material, and assist managers, supervisors, and employees in day to day application.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Microsoft Word and Excel are the primary Microsoft Office applications used for this job.
• Ability to learn new software applications which will be a part of performing this job.
