Schedule

Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Shift: Typically 6:00 AM-3:00 PM (varies by project)

Project Scope

This role oversees safety operations across multiple active construction projects within the Hudson, OH area and surrounding region. Projects range from smaller local builds to large-scale commercial construction projects valued at $100M+, involving both subcontracted and self-perform crews.

The Safety Director will maintain a strong field presence, supporting concrete, steel erection, carpentry, and general construction activities. The role partners closely with superintendents and field leadership to ensure OSHA compliance, proactive hazard mitigation, and continuous improvement of job site safety culture.

Qualifications

3-5+ years of construction safety experience (5 years preferred)
Direct experience in construction environments (concrete, steel, carpentry, or similar trades)
High school diploma required
Bachelor's degree preferred
OSHA 30 required
OSHA 500 or OSHA 501 preferred
CHST or similar safety certification preferred
Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety regulations

Additional Requirements

Ability to travel locally to multiple job sites within a 50-mile radius
Ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously
Comfortable addressing unsafe work and enforcing corrective actions
Proficient with safety documentation and reporting systems

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead safety operations across multiple active construction job sites
  • Conduct weekly job site audits, inspections, and safety evaluations
  • Review incident reports, equipment inspections, and compliance documentation
  • Lead pre-installation meetings, safety planning sessions, and JHAs
  • Deliver safety training, including new hire orientation and PPE training
  • Ensure subcontractor and self-perform compliance with safety standards
  • Support emergency preparedness, including fire response and first aid protocols
  • Partner with field leadership to identify and correct unsafe conditions
  • Maintain accurate and compliant job site safety records
  • Interface with Bureau of Workers' Compensation and regulatory agencies
  • Utilize systems such as Autodesk Forma and Safety Culture for reporting
